As I look back in time,
my mind was so free.
I did not fear the unknown,
exploring the forests alone
Happiness filled my soul,
as I saw the elk and bears,
surrounded by white snow,
with a twig in my hair
I skipped along so cheerfully,
I did not have a care
I was a young forest girl,
captivated by nature's beauty.
The frozen lakes of Finland,
will forever live on in me

Sat by an open fire,
cooked my fish by coals,
as folk before me did,
a tradition of old
This land,this forest,
it is my home.
